Le Gaude, oil on canvas - 36 x 40
This sampling of this work is intended as a tribute to my Grandfather, "Pat" who painted from the 1920's to the 50's. His career covered continents, states and 2 Wars. While I never had the opportunity to speak to him about art, his visual influences were always in my life and provided inspiration for both my brother, Michael and me. www.pattersongalleries.com
Deer Dance - Interior, oil on canvas 30 x 36
Pat lived and painted in the southwest in Santa Fe, NM during the 20's and lived among the other artists on Camino del Monte Sol. These images of the Native American "Deer Dance" show his careful depictions of the intimate ritual ceremony performed during Lent or at Easter

The Alleys on Corsica
After Santa Fe, Pat traveled to Europe, once again, and lived in the south of France. He travelled to beautiful islands then and eventually a show was held for him in the Luxembourg Museum. This image is from the "Alleys of Corsica"
